Starting work tomorrow Question

Hi all I am starting work tomorrow morning and have been asked for a P45 or P60. Over the last 10 years I have been looking after my son and going to uni and so don't have a P45 but I have been told that income support send out a p60 every April or when you sign off. Is this right??
If not where will I find my tax code so I don't end up paying emergency tax?

You fill in a P46 instead - your payroll office will have some.
This will put you on a wk 1, which is a non cumulative tax code, then the Tax office will write to your employer with the correct cumulative code within a few weeks"On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." My hero, Mr Steer.0 -
liney has hit the nail on the head. Your not the only one to not have a p45 or p60.When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.0

If the employer does not have p46 immediatley available, you can of course download one on line yourself and then print off.0

Just to spell it out, no it's not right. You get a P45 at the end of any period of employment or spell on JSA, and you get a P60 if you are in employment at the end of the tax year. Not sure if you get a P60 from claiming JSA at the end of the tax year, but as already said, lots of us don't have them.Hi all I am starting work tomorrow morning and have been asked for a P45 or P60.
