What is the area of Denny in Scotland like to live in?

Hi,
I don't live in Denny itself but nearby in Falkirk. I must admit to not knowing too much about Denny, but I have always had the impression that it is not a particularly desireable place to stay.
Having said that I do know that they are in the process of regenerating the town centre so it might be worth finding out more about that, the timescales and the extent of the regeneration.
There are plenty of other places in the central belt that would be good for commuting to Galsgow and Edinburgh. The high train station at Falkirk is on the main line from Edinburgh to Glasgow depending on where you need to commute to.
Sorry can't be of more help.Today is the first day of the rest of your life0 -
I think as with all areas there are good parts and bad. It would be central for travelling with the motorway network but trains would be less so. You will find it is cheaper price wise. I couldn't comment on safety as it has been some years since I lived nearby.x x x0

I guess it depends on what you are used to. I moved to Denny about 7 years ago from just outside Edinburgh and we never really settled and moved again after 18 months. There is however nothing wrong with it other than the town centre is a bit of an eyesore, but as has been said, they are demolishing and regenerating it. We lived on one of the new estates (well the only new one at the time!) and it mainly seemed to be people like us that had moved there for the convenience. It is handy for commuting, but only by car as there is no train station. We lived at the west of the town, there is a good supermarket and schools are fine, new high school has just been built. It is however very "small town" and tends to keep itself to itself. Personally if you can stretch to it financially, I would try for a place in Stirling where we are now - on the train line for both Edinburgh and Glasgow - probably about an extra 10 minutes commute by car to either than from Denny, but you have access to loads of leisure facilities and scenery and the university and loads of parks for the kids. We found that when we lived in Denny, we spent a lot of time in Stirling so chose to upsticks and move here and we have never regretted it.0

Denny isnt great although as someone has already said everywhere has better bits and worse bits. I agree that Stirling is nicer. Again, there are some bits to avoid like anywhere else but I would say overall there is much more going on than in Denny. Bridge of Allan would be much better than both the aforementioned but its more expensive.:smileyhea0

Hi, if you are having to travel in opposite directions ie one to edinburgh and one to glasgow then you would be better off in polmont, brightons, redding area of falkirk. There is both good rail links and motorway access from this side of Falkirk ,ood schools and Falkirk only 10 mins away.Husbands aunt lives in denny and loves it so i guess its what you make of it . good luck with the moveSo finally debt free and it feels amazing however continuing here to stay debt free.Next declutter house and body and finally swim under that waterfall x0
