molly are you having your entire day at the place? Is there a bar? I would be honest with them first and foremost; state that you would prefer the quote to be rounded down to a more even figure. Ask if there is anything that they would be able to help with given that the quote has exceeded your budget - is there any room for negotiation on the room hire charges, for example?

I certainly advocate asking... you'll never know otherwise!

Yes, everything is happening at the one hotel - ceremony, meal and reception. I will definitely target the room hire and see if I can get rid of them!
Cos I don't shine if you don't shine.

    sorry to hijack your thread,
just want to ask people if its still possible to haggle even after the deposit has been paid? we paid deposit but wont be talking proper figures until january. I was hoping to use the argument of, if you reduce my bill by X: amount i can invite this amount more people and you make more money from drink!
would love to win an ipad!

Well, we are still haggling! Whilst we have agreed a price per head, we are still haggling over what that includes. :D

And that arguement is a good one too!

But with this i was just not sure how to approach the subject or what to say but price per head and what it includes i can do.. thanks again:T

I'll be trying to haggle too come our meeting in February.

We've only booked and paid the deposit so far, but the venue has a larger room with an outside terrace, which we would love but it is for 100 in the day and 150 in the night, whereas we would have 40/50 in the day and 100/120 in the night. There is a minimum number of heads needed for the larger room, but I will see what we can get away with come the time ;)
Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...
  • shellsuit, I think I could do with you in my wedding plans!

I managed to get £200 off my wedding dress by sourcng it cheaper and getting the origional shop to match it, but I am doing pretty pants with the other stuff!

trying to organise my catering, so will have a go there I think!!
