Job & training advice

Morning,

I completed an access course in social work and I want to apply for an outreach worker vacancy. The job ask for a min. of NVQ 3. Does anyone know if an access course meets this? as I know you can get onto a degree with it.

Also are there any websites that give free examples of completed personal statements. I am really struggling with mine's for this job.

Thanks in advance

An access course is a level 3 qualification, although it's really intended for university entry rather than employment.

Are you planning to train as a social worker in the future, because I hope you know that access is only valid for a certain number of years (7?).

I would like to be a social worker but Iwas studying a social work BA and got extited because I failed a moudule.

So I thought I'd apply for this job and build up some experience. I've been told I will be given a Certificate of higher education but I don't really know what that is worth either.

    Thank you

A Cert HE is worth 120 points and is equivalent to the first year of the degree so I assume that this is from your degree rather than the Access course. If it's from the Access course I expect that's it's a Certificate TO HE rather than a Certificate OF HE.

As much experience as possible is always a good thing in this sort of field.

Then that's a Certificate in HE which you could use as credit towards another degree. You can do the degree in Social Work through the HE, and they're very good with credit transfers, but you can only do this if you're sponsored by an organisation, you can't do it as an individual.
