Wow-Im so inspired after reading all your posts!!
I never have much luck with Charity shops, I certainly never find anything with the tags still on - tho I am usually looking for things for me! However im saving to buy a house at the start of next year and I have 2 important birthdays as well as Christmas in December so im worrying about my saving - not sure how many car boots or jumble sales there are around me but il certainly be hitting the charity shops in my lunchtime tomoro just to see about presents!
On the whole cheapy present thing tho, I dont see any problem with it, I for one tend to recycle presents (we all end up with presents we dont want at some point!? althought a good tip is to label who bought you the present to save any embarrasing moments!! And I also tend to do a lot in the january sales and just pick out of my 'Present Box' throughout the year!
Happy Savings!! xx :TSimplify and then Simplify some more!0 -
I think it is a great idea and it's amazing what you can find for very little. Christmas is meant to be about giving but I see that more in the sense of being thoughtful as opposed to just buying something with a hefty price tag.
I know I was horrified last year when a friend went into a designer shop and bought a pair of £100 jeans for her son! Seemed ridiculous to me as who on earth can tell the difference between a £10 or a £100 pair of jeans? I can't.0 -
I bought lots of stuff for my son from car boot sales last year , this year though i have been selling more so not had as much time to search out bargains .I am journeying to a debt-free life.
Our estimated debt-free date is January 2040. I'm on a mission to bring that date closer!
