hi we are moving from australia to uk next yr. the mortgage we presently have is the usual aussie one - variable rate with flexibility to repay more into your mortgage each month and withdraw any time (to a certain limit).

Does anyone know if these mortgage's are in the uk? are they the best deal? which are the better mortgage lenders? would we be eligable for 1st time lenders, and what are the advantages? how long will we have to wait to borrow on arrival?

thanks for any help, as we really don't know where to start

Hi is that the 'overdraft' mortgage? My BIL was here from Perth over the summer and seemed really strange - almost like if you don't want to, you never really pay it off! I don't kow that these are here in the UK - haven't heard of them. Don't know about any 'first time home owner' grants here like in Oz.....certainly no £10,000 grant from the government!
