To me, it sounds like a circular trap. He makes you feel low, you require his approval.
My two cents worth; try to find yourself a good strong chap and allow yourself to be loved by him.

    You deserve better.

You do realise all the women reading this post are simultaneously going 'Aww...', whilst also going all melty and misty-eyed about 'good strong chaps' who can't help loving us.

    Sigh.

I will nip out to the "good strong chap" shop tomorrow.

Can I try a few out first before I come to any final decision?

I dont miss anything about being a couple. I know that is probably weirder than playing online chess but it is the truth.

I don't think its ...weird, just not average. :)

So, you think the uy is a !!!!!!, you don't know what you miss about him, he made you feel like rubbish...and continues to do so, even thouh you really don't want to be with him?

(fwiw I think a lot of people have an ex like this, ...but now I'm over people with inadaquacy complexes and with a nice guy I realise the lack in my case was mine, and I ain't pining one tiny little bit for the squirt, TBH, don't even feel angry now. Was angr with myself for a little while afterwards...but not now. )

Only if its an MSE mulitbuy special offer or a bogof.

Nothing wrong at all in poly-dating IMO. Met DH while flinging seriously with someone else (were not 'exclusive' both new it. ) DH and said ex fling are now chums, all very nice and happy.

I've heard that the swinging community can be just as friendly as the online chess community.

But in a different way, one hopes, unless my stereotype of the online chess community is about to be re-written again.

For all th banter have been exclusive to DH since the beginning. when he made it clear he wanted exclusivity..which was pretty immeadiate, he got it. poly-dating is only acceptable if is mutually satisfactory: if not its just plain old cheating. and dh is not a swinger. In fact, neither am I now I know myself better :o:)

LIR I tried to reply to your PM but your inbox is full.

I tried casual sex once. All my friends warned me I would hate it, that it would make me feel cheap and nasty. We had this huge discussion about it (as women do) and I found it particularly ironic that the most violently opposed was the same friend who had shagged a male stripper after a hen night the week before.

They were wrong. I didn't hate it and it didn't make me feel even vaguely cheap.

But (why is there always a but) I didn't respect him in the morning. I felt fine about me, I just didn't like him very much at all.

Whatever the question is, unfortunately shagging someone you dont give a toss about is rarely the answer.

    Damn shame really
