Thabks - yes I am just going to write to Lloyds telling them to keep the account open. I did open the A& L account on line and then recommended my sister so we will both get £25!

By just talking to the CCCS it will not affect your credit rating. A couple of reasons you might be getting rejected for credit could be;
a) Your level of debt comapred to your income is to high
b) Your potential debt compared to your income is to high
To make yourself more appealing to lenders you should make sure you cancel all old credit cards. Check the report you ordered to see if any are still open.
You can also reduce the limits of your current cards so your potential debt is less.0 -
Thanks - I have obtained a copy of our credit rating which looks to be fair. I have made sure though that any cards we aren't using have been cancelled. We have had some good news though we have been accepted for a BA Amex LLB card so I will be able to shift the Lloyds overdraft onto that which will definately help and some of the Egg Card too.
Haven't made up my mind about the CCS appointment - it would be nice to get their take on it all. But now we have got the BA card I want to go onto the Snowball calculator and re-jig things just to see where we stand.
It's just finding time to do all this... I don't know where the weekends gone!

Hello Calypso
Sounds like you are making good progress! I am sue the snowball calculator will be a lot more positive with your new APR. It helps tremendously to lower those pesky APRs
As for ther weekend, I feel the same way as you and I don't even have a 2 week old baby to take care of :eek:Calypso wrote:It's just finding time to do all this... I don't know where the weekends gone!Leason learnt :beer:0 -

That's great news getting the 4.9% LOB and will chop off a load of interest going forward.
I think you're doing really well to get done what you have so far with a new baby! I think it took me about 2 months before I did more than the day to day basics!Back on the DFW Wagon:
CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020
CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019
Loan - £12,063.84 as at 4/1/180 -
Thanks for your support - it's very motivational. With payday looming tomorrow, I am determined to get a budget in place for the new month, taking into account new debt repayments - although hubby has just told me his car needs taxing. That's another thing I haven't quite sorted - piggy-banking -I have got some accounts set-up ready, just need to start putting aside the money each month for thopse sorts of things.
I am determined to get organised!
Thanks again
Calypso
