Hi Benls...we thought long and hard about it to be honest..we got an electrolux a while ago, and a morphy richards 2 years ago as a wedding pressie..but hubby was dememented cleaning out the fiddly filter thingies.
The main thing about the dyson is no suction is lost, and they are really easy to use and empty. We were using ours within 5 minutes of unpacking it.
Other hoovers may be cheaper at the start, but by the time you buy replacement bags n other bits n bobs I dont think its worth it.
The mini turbine head is superb...we used it to clean our cats scratching post etc n they look brand new now.
Hope this helps you.

Hi, my dyson went to the great vacuum heap in the sky and being new to the internet I began a dubious search for a new one. I managed to stumble across Freenet and managed to purchase a DC14 All floors for a brilliant price of £174.99 which was promptly delivered two days later. Im extremely pleased with it and my first internet buying experience.......:j
Try kelzoo to compare prices!!!!
Hope this helps!!!!0
