Remortgage with same lender?

Sorry if this sounds really dense but I am wondering whether it is possible to remortage with a current lender to a better fixed rate mortgage deal - if say one still had about 16 months to run on their current fixed rate deal. Would they hit you with early repayment charges etc etc or just an admin fee?

  • Most, if not all lenders would still charge the early repayment charge if you came out your fixed rate early, even if you were still staying with them
