Remortgage with same lender?

Sorry if this sounds really dense but I am wondering whether it is possible to remortage with a current lender to a better fixed rate mortgage deal - if say one still had about 16 months to run on their current fixed rate deal. Would they hit you with early repayment charges etc etc or just an admin fee?

Most, if not all lenders would still charge the early repayment charge if you came out your fixed rate early, even if you were still staying with themNumber 86 - Stole a car from a one legged woman... I'm just trying to be a better person0
