I love the:
tinned toms (perfect for spag bol, chillis etc)
red kidney beans
branflakes - seriously! I downshifted to them when had them for breakfast at a VERY wealthy friend's house!Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
"I can see Value stuff being unused as it is cheap, however I do not personly see the differance in some products myself. Tesco value bin liners. What's the differance????!!!!! Tesco value cat litter, tesco value chopped tomatoes. NO DIFFERANCE TO NAME A FEW! The only products I would not recomemd is things you NEED like toothpaste and deodrant to name a few (again). Things like TV ready meals are atually very nice and the TV tortilla chips are heavenly x"0

Value loo roll (ok the rolls are small and not that soft but I have a 3year old that uses half a roll to wipe herself and a kitten that thinks he's the andrex puppy)
Tortilla chips - Fine, we have chilli nachos a lot so bargain!
Baked beans
Tuna - don't notice a difference from JW tuna once mayo has been added
Fruit is fine
Biscuits are nice
Bread
Part baked baguettes are fab for the price!
Kidney beans
Cat litter - It's lightweight which is a bonus, great for the poos, not so great on the wee's but I scoop twice a day, no problem.
Value turkey leg, it's a bit tough even when cooked, but once you strip it, it's enough to make a few pies
Ketchup is nice, slightly vinegary? Also the glass bottles are a bit of a nightmare, it starts crusting at the top!
Not so good -
The fromage frais yoghurts, all watery at the top, DD (3) says they taste like poopy, so back to munch bunch and petite filous!
Squash isn't that niceTo get to Disneyland Florida 20160 -
I use the value bin liners, tinned sweetcorn, frozen peas and the kitchen roll.
However, I can't use the pasta. It always develops a lot of scum in the pan, like a lump-free rice pudding, and when I checked the ingredients it's the ones that have semolina flour along with the durum wheat that seem to do this.
Agree about the market value veg. I bought some peppers, admittedly they were HUGE, but they were twice the price of normal0 -
Agree on a lot of the things people have been saying.
The value bin liners are better than Sainsbury's standard ones (which tend to tear for no reason).
Kidney beans are kidney beans.
Frozen peas in my opinion are better than the branded ones.0 -
The double strength squash is not bad and i like the soft cheese, low fat natural yogurt and the dried herbs for bolognases/pasta.0

I know I'm replying to a post that is one day short of being two years old, but I'm doing it because of that.
So 2 years ago shortbread was 9p per packet, just looked and it's now 27p per packet.
Tripled in price in two years, that's a lot more than the governments published inflation rates.0
