Shoes a little too big - any ideas?

I have bought the most gorgeous shoes but my feet keep slipping out of them when I try and walk
I have tried the next half size down but they are too tight and I don't want to risk hoping they'll give a little as I know they'll end up stuck in my wardrobe.
Can anyone offer any advice on what they may have used to stop them slipping off? They are closed toe and quite high (oh they are fab!!)
I'm thinking an insole might help but then again they might just raise my foot so will still slip off?

cotton wool in the toes and an insole might help.0

Leather heel grips will take up a little space, as will those gel blister pad things you can buy from the scholl section in Boots.
If they don't fit though, then you should really take them back and go look for a pair that do fit properly.
Walking round in shoes your feet slip out of isn't just dangerous, it will make you look ridiculous too, no shoes are pretty enough to compensate for falling flat on your face, or leaving one stick in a paving slab crack.;)Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

I got foot/toe things from Primark for £1.(Cant remember the name but next to their party feet) They look like tights, but have alot of padding at the toes and only cover your toes, so they cant be seen. They really are good and do work and no one has ever noticed them. HTH0/2013

If they are evening heels, wearing no tights helps (lots of my heels simply won't stay on with tights on). Adding an insole should help too. Cols toes, so if you can wear them with trousers rather than skirts, socks might help rather than tights/pop socks/nothing.
I hate being inbetween sizes: too large this happens (and those ones always soom tgive a lot with wear) too small, and the obvious discomfort.0 -
I second those gel blister pads. Stick them towards the back of the shoe and they will stop the back slipping off and will stay

Thanks everyone. I've bought some insoles and they seem to have done the trick. Looking forward to wearing them tonight now. I'll no doubt be looking at my feet all night0
