Tax Query

I am in full time job and pay my tax on p.a.y.e,but over the past six months i have also been receiving a income of £400 a month for maintaining a web site,this money is paid directly into my account.I know i will have to fill in tax return to declare this income,but is this done as being self employed on my second income

    Yes, this is self employment and you should have advised HMRC as soon as you started getting this additonal money. You may be fined £100 for not doing so. You register as self employed either online or through the HMRC helpline. Your first return will be issued next April and the first tax due by 31 Jan 2011.
