DVD Recorder

I am looking for a reasonably priced, reasonably specced, DVD Recorder to back up TV Programs(and play DVDs, SVCDs, etc., etc.) from my Freeview PVR.
I see a few have TV Tuners built in but I obviously don't need this functionality. Most of them seem to be analogue anyway.
Any recommendations?

Anyone bought the recent Aldi offer???0 -
Personally don't see the point in purchasing a DVD recorder without a hard drive as it makes things so much easier and beter value for money as you can store a DVD's worth of content onto your hard drive then fully burn a DVD rather than keep using DVD's that you may only fill half way. At least with having a hard drive you can watch it from the hard drive and if you decide to put it onto DVD you can or just delete it from the hard drive0

I totally agree. We bought a Liteon at Christams and its one of the best things we've bought (£200 though).
We record onto the hard drive then put to disc if we want to keep anything. We've also put several videos to disc although a lot of the quality depends on the video tape.
One of the best features is being ablt to watch a progamme from the beginning (timeslip I think its called) while still recording it. which is great on sky because if you wait till its halfway through you can cut out the adverts and catch the programme up towards the end.
Just wish the tv progammes were a bit better. lolThe curve that can set a lot of things straight is a smile0
