still paying for loan that has ended! help
Hi all, what do you think of this?
I took out a loan with abbey in feb for £5000. in june, i extended the loan to £7000. this money paid of the outstanding loan and left me with £2000 in the bank. 5 months down the line, i have just discovered, that as well as paying for the new £7000 loan, they are still deducting from my account fo the original loan! i called them and they said yes it was a mistake and that the will refund money i have overpaid within the week.
i've been under so much stress each month lately, never having any money, and now i knoe it's because abbey have been taking £157 a month from me that wasn't theirs. today, my car payment bounced as there wasn't enough funds. i'm just waiting for the call from VW asking where their money is. i've gone over my overdraft limit twice since this has been happening, but i only noticed it today.
has anyone ever heard of this kind of screw up before? and is there any action i can take?
thanks in advance for your thoughts on this.

Abbey are notoriously rubbish at all things customer service.
However, if money is so tight, how did you not noticed a missing £157 each month? Surely you check your bank statements? Or have a budget?0 -
just had a lot on my plate this year, and so much going in and out of account. my income is also sporadic, so there is never an amount that 'should' be in there. i only noticed it because the two loan amounts came out on the same day, when there should have only been one.0
