B&B mortgage - escape route sought.

Are there any firms that will take on an existing mortgage from Bradford & Bingley with a very short term (approx 8 months) to run ?
I am probably more fortunate than most in that my mortgage is close to the end and is very small - £220 per month. It has been with B&B for 15 years and until recently was on a reasonable fixed rate. It has now run out and I have been switched to their lousy SVR.
I would like to move it on principle even if I only save a small amount of money. It irritates the hell out of me that my B&B shares are now worthless and they will not offer any alternate deal to a loyal customer.
I have been unable to find any remortgage deal for such a small amount and/or short time period. Am I wasting my time looking?
