Advice on SD Card please?

Hi
Have just bought a Nikon coolpix 8700, due to a mix up at the shop I said I have xd cards and he must have thought I said SD cards which it takes I haven't got any cards for it. It says in the book it takes a 512 card, would it support a 1GB one does anyone know as there are some about for quite good prices?
Thanks!

on my camara it recommends a card size mine is 256 i would not put in a 1GB card unless it recommends it in the book. i just checked the Argos catolog page 437 there is a helpline for Nikon 0800 230 220.

    hope this helps

Morning, we have a coolpix and use a 1gb card, and it works fine. We got our card from ebay...though if you have a look on the grabbit or shop but dont drop boards there are some great prices for sd cards too.
Hope this helps a wee bit.

  • Hi thanks for that - I've just looked again at the book and it says it takes a 1GB microdrive.
It gives a list of cards which have been approved, not just compaitbale ones.
  • compatible even!

the cheapest place I have seen to get memory cards is

    directphoto

£17.99 for 1Gb and free P&P according to their site, I have never bought from the shop but I have use them to print photos ages ago and they were very good and quick.
