Hope you are right Lizdav was v upset when read that post as I ordered 1 from Play, com last week the money has gone fom my account and thought I might not see my (IIII mean DDs of course) Mr Squiggles this year!

With regards to play.com I ordered on 10th nov when they were 9.99. I think it was the next day or the day after that I phoned play.com and asked if the stock would be in before christmas.

The woman told me that stock was due in 28 days from then and would be posted to me then and I would get them before christmas.

I asked her to please double check and she went off the phone and returned repeating the information that I would get them before christmas.

Now she could have been instructed to b*llsh*t the customers or maybe she was telling the truth. I don't know but I did get her to repeat the information back to me and she didn't crack under pressure!

At the end of the day if play.com are lying then all I could do is say I won't buy from them again which of course isn't realistic as they do have other items at excellent prices and I am a regular customer.

Even if I never did buy from them again, they simply do not care as their customer base is never ending.
Went to the paper shop - it had blown away.

I too have signed up for several "now in stock" emails ,but never recieved one single email from any of the online stores
    Is it just me :D:rolleyes:

It's not just you - if you look back through the previous few posts(maybe about 1000!) :rotfl: It was posted that the online retailers have had so many requests for the 'back in stock' info that is isn't worth their while sending them out as by the time they'd been received they'd be sold out again. I think they also have to pay for these emails to be sent out??

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong with this info or if its been posted in the last few minutes - I can't keep up with this thread!!
:j Proud owner of 2 hamsters (Num Nums and Mr Sqiggles) - house, slide, wheel, surfboard, car, skateboard, 2 beds and 2 blankets! And the ball!!! Thank you TRU - fingers crossed! :j
  • Just had a quick look on ebay... One seller has sold 15 hamsters averaging £30 each and about the same carry cases for £10... No wonder there is nothing left!!!!

I did in fact get just one back in stock email which enabled a few people to order, from mailorderexpress.com . They put their prices up pretty smartish after getting a lot of orders I gather.

I just thought I would mention that when we had a busy 'bad mums club' thread on MSE the mods used to insist that when it got to a certain size we had to start a new one. it might have been a hundred pages, or a thousand posts, something like that but definitely smaller than the size this thread is at the moment. It was something to do with servers or resources or something?

Just a thought, that someone might want to start a new one, same as this with all the chat etc. for us to use instead of this, because if this one got closed all of a sudden some of us (okay, me!) would be upset lol!

  • do you know what i think would be a lovely idea (i presume you can post pictures up on this thread) we (who were lucy enough to get our hamsters before christmas) should all post up photos of our kids enjoying them on christmas day or there after would make a nice ending to the whole thing :)
