I got a reply tonight from Sir Terry Leahy's staff re my e mail about the balls etc, here's my e mail and response

I would just like to say how disgusted I am that Tesco are taking advantage of the desperate parents need to get hold of the go go hamster things for christmas.
I have noticed that Tesco are charging for the Go Go hamster ball £20 when the RRP as stated by Character (the importers/wholesalers) is £9.99 and the Skateboard is on sale at your store for £19.97 when the RRP is £9.97.
This 100% markup is in my opinion excessive.
None of the other shops like Asda, Sainsbury's, Toys R Us etc have increased their prices as demand is high. In fact boots even have the hamster things included in their 3 for 2.

I will be shopping more often at other supermarkets which do not take advantage of parents need to make their children happy at Christmas.

Further to my previous email, I was concerned to learn that the price of a Go Go Hamster product in our stores was double the Recommended Retail Price, and that of other retailers. I can appreciate why you are unhappy by this and would like to offer my sincere apologies. We would also like to offer our assurances that it is not our policy to charge over the Recommended Retail Price for any toys in our stores.

To ensure that the points raised in your email were dealt with appropriately, the details of your complaint were brought to the attention of our Buying Manager responsible for the product. She said that she was already aware of the issue and had it changed immediately it was brought to her attention. She has also asked me to pass on her apologies for the disappointment this situation has caused you, which was the result of a human error.

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention and please accept my apologies once again for this oversight.

The spiral slide and pink carrier and the pink bed, had them all in basket. Added last item and went to checkout, spiral slide was gone! Not gonna pay p&p for 2 small items.

Oh and the elusive BALL. Knew I wouldnt get that 2nite. Oh well will have to hold out for Character nxt week, am so pleased the delivery date has changed as Im in work on the 19th.

Just the ball for me to get now, i work full time so not much chance unless stock is added in the evening like Horray for toys. Does anyone know if Character toys put their stock on in the evening?

I think your best chance for a slide now is toysrus stores and character said they weren't getting anymore before xmas - its just the playsets, houses and hamsters they are listing as far as I am aware and the beds / carriers on 18/12.

Hi all. New to posting although have been avidly reading this thread for the past few weeks!!

Thanks to all the advice posted I have managed to get the house (Hamleys), wheel (TRU), Carrier and Bed (TRU).

My friend got the car from Tesco.

My sister picked up Num Nums from Wilko and I ordered Mr Squiggles from play.com 10 days ago. (not arrived yet, anyone else had their order from play)?

I am finished now as I refuse to pay the crazy inflated prices around now but just wanted to say thanks to everyone. I shall have one very happy 4 year old on Christmas day and the bank manager will not be too stressed either!! :j

Maximouse your campaign to befriend Chunk is obviously paying off - I've just seen him go on ebay for £41 plus £4 postage :eek: - and this was on auction only, not even a high starting bid !!!!

He outstripped all the other hamsters by at least a fiver - he'll be a happy little Chunk now :j.
