There is someone selling the Spanish set on ebay and it seems to go for between £55-£70 plus £16 postage

mind you wouldn't it cost £45 for a wheel, slide, hammy and carrier? So a tenner for half a house, and postage is about right although it wouldn't cost £16 to post this set, it weighs next to nothing! I would have to pay postage for wheel, slide or carrier because there's nowhere local stocking them, not even argos so if I bought items separately from TRU etc. I suppose I might have paid this much. When I looked for patches on ebay to see what she looked like she was selling for more than £25!

I can't work out why elcorteingles is giving a discount on the stuff in the first place though - it's so hard to get hold of everywhere else, surely they don't need to discount it

I really want to acknoweldge everyone on here who has been so helpful. If it wasnt for other MSE members, I would be no where near where I am now with the Hamster-hunt! I have not only been able to help myself, but 2 others also, one of whom is a little 3yr old girl who is going to be sooooo happy on christmas morning.

This thread is my only experience of MSE, and I like what I see, so hopefully I will stick around the other boards after christmas :D

You are all little :A and deserve a lot of wine and chocolate!

I totally agree with you. I stumbled across these Hamsters in the Daily Mail a couple of weeks ago and got the bug. I was only going to get 2 hamsters but have now ended up with the full set house/playsets/add ons wise and 2 NumNums and 2 Chunks. I have told my boys i cannot find them but they will be so thrilled on Xmas morning (well they'd better be!! LOL)

I would have probably ended up getting it all from ebay if it wasn't for the knowledge of some of the girls on here. Maximouse and LizDav have been extremely helpful and others have helped with their knowledge of stock as well.

I am all done now but will still pop in here as i want to know how you are all doing with your hunt.

    Thanks to all of you.
Cost of this Hamster Hunt (inc postage):
    2 x Num Nums - £36.70, 1 x Chunk £13.50, 1 x Chunk £15.50, Slide £26.89, House £25.94, Car £14.99, Ball £9.99, Surfboard £9.99, Skateboard £9.99, Wheel £24.19 TOTAL:£187.68

A big thanks to you MSE'ers - especially Maximouse :A
  • When my Spanish order comes through (this is for my dd2) I only need 2 elusive balls, 1 for dd1 and the other for ds1, he only wants the ball and pipsqueak (originally wanted Mr Squiggles hence the user name, better not change his mind again lol).

My lucky dd1 had the hamster house, 4 hammies, sleepdome and skateboard for her birthday a couple of weeks ago. I bought these in september, little did I know how popular they would be, why oh why did I not buy that pesky ball. :p

Thanks for all the help on here, you're all :A

    Huge thanks to you! :D

When I collected these an hour ago, I was given a choice from all four. Don't know if the others were reserved too or if they have available stock

  • TRU COVENTRY UPDATE

Hello Again! So this morning there was around 15 people waiting, which doesn't seem a lot to me and they all got what they wanted.

So, SATURDAY MORNING. The gate for the car park opens at 6 but the store doesn't open until 9! (I think people in the queue are given a voucher/ticket so when in store people can't push in). They have also upped the quantity allowed. You can now get TWO hamsters and 1 of each accessory. Think I said that correctly, like you can get the whole accessory set (if it's available of course) but if you want two surfboards or whatever, you need to take a friend. I think that's pretty good, two hamsters instead of one too.

    Have a good day.

(The store is located just off junction two of the M6)
