    Breaking news :j

www.character-online.com are putting the houses on their website today around 10am. They are putting the playsets (balls, surfboards and skateboards) on the site on 19/11 (but no add ons). Accessories (bed and carriers) aren't going on until 18/12. That's the latest info, but of course things often change! and no, I don't work for them either...

  • Well I'm delighted to say that I now have the full set. Having checked this thread a million times a day and all the websites too, I stumbled across the ball in Tesco yesterday. Just the one lone ball. It was £19.99 which I thought was unusual for Tesco but hey I've got it and I wasn't leaving without. Just waiting on my beds and carriers to arrive from HFT.

I hope my child wants all this stuff. :rotfl:

A big thanks again to Maximouse and everyone else who shared info. :T

I'm not sure what to be doing with myself now.

Character mailed me to say that they will be listing fun houses ~10 am.

Also, they are trying to source some more hamsters to sell this weekend.

Don't know where they are going to find Hamsters ... my guess someone hasn't paid up on time and they have held a retail order back and considering selling themselves ... my theory alone
  • Major rant alert!!!

As some of us have paid 100% more than RRP @ tesco's for add ons i though i would ring Tesco head office to complain. I have had a phone call back from them & they are saying that £19.97 is the RRP for all the add ons! I can't believe they have the cheek. Anyway, i told the lady that she was wrong & that i would ring Character to get the RRP prices - she even said that Character - online prices were "special offers"!!
Spoke to character 5 mins ago & she confirmed that all the prices on their web site were RRP & NOT special offers so am currently waiting for another phone call back from Tesco head office.
If anyone has paid £19.97 for the add on's PLEASE ring to complain 0800 50 55 55, it's disgusting that a company that make million of ££££ profit each year has the cheek to inflate prices by 100%. I mentioned to the lady at head office that i would not be letting this drop & am looking in to contacting watchdog.

  • Just looked at the Argos webbsite and they have 3 fun houses in the Bristol city mall, if it helps anybody.

    Good for you!
I was just about to order some Tesco toys online in the 3 for 2 promotion, but the 2 items I really wanted have both increased in price overnite :naughty:

I did mention the other day that my sister-in-law managed to get the ball and surfboard in her local Boots store in Cardiff (it is quite a large store though). They don't have these sets on the website but it could be another shop that is worth checking. She paid £10 for each item (so no price inflation) and they were included in the 3 for 2 offer! :T

I've managed to get a house, ball, surfboard and hopefully a wheel :jso am stopping now. Think that's quite enough sets for my DD to enjoy at Christmas. Think I'll get more sets in the new year when the fuss dies down a bit and I know how popular the pets are in our house.

Good luck to those of you who are still looking
