I have chunk here, bought for someone else and he is gorgeous! I love his sweet little face!
I don't know who john lewis are sending me, but whereas before i wanted mr squiggles now I am thinking that if we don't get mr squiggles then chunk will be nice instead52% tight0 -
right with you on that one. I saw them all sitting on a shelf about 6 weeks ago and I was going to get them but hubby said leave it til nearer xmas ... that's the last time I listen to him !!!!
I have been keeping an eye on ebay just in case madness takes over and I decide to try and get daughter extra bits to go with hers, anyhow I've noticed there appears to be a lull in prices between 18:00 - 19:00, I'm thinking maybe tea and bathtime so I may resort to ebay hunting between those times if I can't control the hamster madnessHusband says I'm obsessed and I'm starting to agree with him !
I also noticed that tonight things seem to be several pounds cheaper during those times.0 -
I know it's against some peoples principles but the hamsters are going for under £20 now on ebay. You're paying over the rrp but this may be your last chance as the nearer it gets to xmas maybe stock will run out again and ebay prices will shoot up. its a gamble
I don't think sellers are making a huge profit if they sell for £20 or less. They might have paid £14 to begin with, from john lewis hoping that they get a particular colour. On a £20 sale I think ebay take £2 and paypal take £1? Then there's the listing fee.
I posted a hammy today and it cost £1.62 (plus 75p for the recorded delivery)
So even if the seller has an old jiffy bag etc. and has no transport costs to get to the PO they're not gaining a huge amount.52% tight0 -

I'm trying to avoid ebay at all costs and have adopted 'lets run up a big phone bill' tactic on my daily search for hamsters and the extrasAlthough I do tend to watch the listings for those who can't spell hamster just in case I can grab a bargain !
