I've bought silicon baking tray liners in B&M Bargains, Wilkos and Lidl's - just need to cut them to fit cake tins as they are usually rectangular.

I keep mine rolled up and stashed inside an old clingfilm tube :).
  • Yep, defo the marg tub in the bottom of the freezer labeled "leftover veg". When its full its time to make chilli or stew !

For me, I think it's probably my Breadcrumb Box. All bits of leftover & stale bread get crumbed up & added to an old ice cream container in the freezer, then it's a ready made ingredient if I want to bulk out a meal by making some stuffing, if I want a crumble topping for something or I see a good offer on mince & want to make a big batch of meatballs, burgers, or if there are leftovers to be made into fishcakes, lentil loaf, etc. Very useful ingredient which costs nothing, as I'd have previously put stale ends of loaves outside for the starlings............(they are not going hungry, by the way, they've just been upgraded to proper bird food & different scraps!)

    Hi
I think my favourite kitchen "life saver" is my silicon rubber spoon, you can get every scrap out of bowls, magimix etc with this, amazing how much more there is left after you've used an ordinary spoon.

I also love my little plastic pots (6 for 99p) in the cheapy kitchen shop, great for individual portions/leftovers. When I cleared the freezers out in March this year was horrified to find I've got over 150 of them. But am down to 12 empty ones at the moment. All the rest in use with icecream, fruit compote, passata etc.

Love the idea of a breadcrumb box, am always hunting high and low for those ends of loaves I've squirreled away in the freezers.
