New Tax Code, 647L to 622L

in Cutting tax
I've just received my payslip for this month, and my tax code has changed.
I was previously on the following :
TC : 647L
Monthly Salary : £1750.00
Tax : 242.00
NI : 140.14
Student Loan : 45
Now I am on :
TC : 622L
Monthly Salary : £1750
Tax : 267.00
NI : 140.14
Student Loan : 45.00
Essentially a £25.00 raise in the amount of income tax I am paying.
My circumstances havent changed, I haven't had a payrise since I started with my present company (18 months ago), so I'm pretty confused as to why I've been moved to a different tax code and I'm now paying more.
Can someone help?
Many thanks,

You should have been sent a new notice of coding showing how code 622L is made up. It could be for any number of reasons and we would only be guessing if we tried to answer this. If you have had a notice which you dont understand, give us the details and we will try and help. If you havn't had a notice, you need to ring your tax office and ask for a copy.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0

call the tax office as they will be able to explain why, most likely reason is that your employer may have sent a P11D to tax office which shows benefits that they are giving you? if its an error it will be changed0

Thanks guys,
I believe this may be due to my work's pension contributions being in the process of changing.
I will call the tax office and confirm.
Thanks again.0 -
If this new tax code is correct (and i'm not saying it is), you should be aware that the reduced tax code results in £50 more tax per year being paid (or £4.17 extra per month, not £25 more per momnth). When your employer applied the new code cumulatively, it took into account that it was the 6th month of the tax year so 6 x £4.17 = £25.0
