Maybe showering a child to remove faeces isn't ideal to everyone here but to be honest when I was washing down my child with normal tap water it seemed more important to get him clean and stop the offending matter being transfered into his mouth than to be running a nice bubble bath.

It wasn't specially ice cold water, he wasn't put through a car wash, I didn't smack or injure him, I wasn't horrible and didn't harm him.

    I
just wonder how people feel about children playing with water from the hose in the garden or in a paddling pool? Or even a dip in the sea at the beach can be cold?

The Happy smiles & Joy full laughter coming from children enjoying water play
is totally different to a child being "hosed" (or showered) down with cold water as a "punishment" !!!!

I think that some fms are misconstruing the cold water thing, tbh. And have assumed that I've mentioned it in a positive light - I haven't - I have said it sounds a bit brutal and was asking for the experiences of others. Thanks to those who have made suggestions!

To clarify - here's the link to the website I read - I'm pretty sure it doesn't mention hosing a child down in a car wash in order to scar the said toddler for life!
