Rotisserie

My daughter has mentioned she would like a small electric rotisserie, which she has seen somewhere. Apparently it is separate from a cooker and large enough to spit-roast a chicken. She has a birthday coming up and I would like to get her one. Has anybody seen them/used one?
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Hi consultant31,
You should get more replies on the I wanna board, so I'll move your thread over there.

Had a look on Argos website and Amazon, but not found anything (thanks anyway).
I think they're made under the George Foreman label, anybody any ideas please?I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
If you take a shelf out of your oven and place a glass milk or ketchup bottle 1/2 filled with water in a large oven proof bowl to catch the drips you can do chicken that tastes exactly like rotossery chicken

Basically you shove the neck of the bottle in the chicken where you put the stuffing if roasting normally. Then you pop chicken on bottle in the oven on big tray to catch drips. The chicken then cooks vertically rather than horzontally like a normal roast.
It's the nicest way to roast chicken there is and you can experiment by putting some herbs or lemon or garlic in the 1/2 bottle of water to flavour the chicken flesh as it cooks YUM! the chicken comes out lovely and golden all the way round on the outside and tender, and moist from the steam on the inside. My ex is romanian and it's how they always roast chicken.
A much cheaper option if she wants to keep the space in her kitchen?0 -
