Idea for Chrsitening gift needed

A friend of mine is having her son christened in 3 weeks and I am stuck for a gift idea. I'm not keen on the usual silver tankard, silver cutlery as I find they usually get put into a cupboard then given away once the child goes to university. i would like something a bit different but personal and maybe even something that wouldn;t get hidden in a cupboard. Looking to spend about £15, any ideas?

How about a terramundi jar... http://www.shopcreator.com/mall/productpage.cfm/Terramundi2/SS42/261586. Youc an get these direct from terramundi or from ebay (probably cheaper) and loads of other places.
A set of coins minted the year the child was born?
How about putting together a scrapbook with spaces for photos, family tree, handprints and pages of info like things that happened the day/year he was born, price of basic items such as bread and milk, number one album and single etc... If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
how about a treasure box - a bit like a jewellery box for a girl. Something along the lines of this

A nice treasure/memory box would be nice or what about a nice Bible?0

For two recent Christenings we've been to (OH was godfather to two LOs at one of them), we've bought Usbourne Illustrated books. Neither we nor the parents of the children being Christened are religious :cool:0

Some great ideas thanks, I think I'm going to do a hamper and will buy a copy of the Usbornes book to go in. Also like the idea of a treasure box so may have a go at making my own, wish me luck..!0

when we were asked to be godparents, we gave the baby a china money box full of 10ps. each 10p symbolised a day of his life i.e 100 days old = 10p x 100!0
