Try looking through the mineral make up thread and the sheer cover thread - they are very long but worth checking out.

Barbara Daly does a very good moisturising foundation which you can buy in Tesco stores. Sorry, can't remember the price.
  • A tinted moisturiser is what you need, Also cleans tone and moisturies this will help the condition of your skin and in turn make the base look better.
I am pleased to give hairdressing help or advice, but a thank you doesn't go a miss.

Another vote for tinted moisturiser here. I have dry skin and use tinted moisuriser daily.

Try Liz Earle products. I use her 'light' moisturiser which is very good. Although it is light, it is very moisturising. All her products are good. I use Elemental Beauty mineral make up on top, it is the best (I find) to help keep the natural balance of you own skin.

I have very VERY dry skin- it flakes if I don't use moisturiser and is hard to find foundation for.
I use Maybelline-either the liquid mineral foundation or the liquid satin foundation. Both are great, so easy tp apply you can even apply with just your fingers instead of a brush/sponge applicator, or blend with foundation. V.well recommended!

I would be looking at getting the skin care right first before looking for the moisturiser

What is it thats making your face so dry?

Soaps and a lot of cleansers do - as does water so perhaps you need to change your routine and products?

A good moisturiser is a must and sometimes a serum, esp if you dont like a heavy day cream. I use very light products in the day but crank it up at night - esp now the central heating is on and the car heater is as well.

Also drink plenty - you need to hydrate from the inside out as well

And exfoliate a couple times a week, get rid of the dry flaky skin.

A good and not too expensive skin care range is the Liz Earle. What I love in particular is that her moisturiser duos can be mixed and match, you dont have to buy two light if you want a heavier night one you can have one of each

the best moisturiser i have found is the £1.99 stuff from home bargains, think its q10, i used to use clinique dramatically differant moisturiser but my skin is better since i changed to that

i just couldnt justify spending liz earle money

  • hi, ive got dry skin too, but i find that putting a moisteuriser on about 15mins before you put foundation on really helps. Also really good is mousse foundation.

My fave foundation at the moment which is brilliant for my dry skin is collection 2000 lasting perfection ultimate wear foundation, its brilliant, its new out, its on offer at the moment in superdrug, for about 3.86 i think. try it. Its not expensive if it doesnt work for your skin, but its fab for dry skin xx
