I don't know about it being an offence, but if you can pay the self employed contribs (just over 2 quid a week) that would be the best thing to do so that you have a full state pension.
Call them for advice, but you really should post your own thread instead of pulling up a 3 yr old one as rules can and do change.0 -
Biggest worry here isn't the NI it's whether you've really been an employee or not. Equity contracts are nice but there's still the general test for employee or not to watch out for when not on an Equity contract. If you haven't discussed your specific situation with a tax expert familiar with your industry you should because this is potentially far more serious than the possible NI bill.0
