Hi All,
I discovered this forum about six months ago and reading through everyone's stories made me feel so much more optimistic about my situation, as I realised I was far from alone.
My LBM came in March when I realised I'd accumulated over £25k of unsecured debts (loans and CCs) as well as a loan from my Dad of about £3k. I realised what an idiot I had been (and was being!) with money and decided there and then to do something about it. I cut way back on absolutely everything and I have managed to clear off about £400-500 of the total debt each month since then. I still have a long way to go, but at last I can see that I can work my way out of this mess, slowly but surely. Life has been hard for the past six months and will continue to be so for the next three or four years, but I am determined to do this as I can't cope anymore with being constantly in debt. I can’t move on and do all the things I've dreamed of until this has been achieved.
Thank you all so much for providing so much inspiration and good advice, especially as I have no-one in my life that I can talk to completely openly about my situation. You're all brilliant!
