I want to thank evryone for posting here. It looked suspicious, but I sent the info since it was nothing too personal. When I read the comments here, I just stopped answering. They did give me an assignment, said the check had been sent, and I had to keep 100 pounds and then 50 for the purchase, and give the rest to the second person who also had the assignment. They said they would send the name. That's what made me suspicious enough to look here.

Thank you everyone. I just stopped writing to them and have not heard since.

By the way, in the email messages was a name of a company whose website I found, with a Maryland phone and address. I was about to call when I came here and realised it's a scam.

Dodgy english and dodgy sounding. I don't think you should have sent them any information at all. Sometimes all they need are just those details to get them started on an identity theft.
Mind you - this comes from someone who is so paranoid - she burns all mail with her name on it..

.... so do I (open coal fire at home), and it is only paranoid until your identity is thieved, ........ bit of a catch22 , you would have to let your identity be thieved to prove you (& I) are sensible not paranoid ! tee hee ........ hopefully it "will never happen to me" ....."or you" ... touch wood

You need to pay close attention to detail and have a good memory to complete assignments successfully.

You are to shop secretly and invest just a token of your time. This fee will be paid upfront. During this shop you will visit the location and make several

observations as regards the customer service.
You will be required to interact with the shop clerk.
You may conduct the shop alone or as a couple.
The assignment will pay 200-250 pounds per duty
