Is the red cotton used to put the stripes in the dishcloth, the same as the dishcloth cotton?
The only thing with dishcloths is that they have to be 100% cotton. It can be ANY cotton - doesn't have to be the dishcloth one. I put that on because it's so cheap. "Ordinary" DK cotton from a wool shop is usually at least £2.50 if not £3-odd per ball. Mind you, if you were putting two stripes across the middle of a cloth, then one ball would do you plenty of dishcloths!
Any DK (double knit) 100% cotton is fine. I quite liked the look of that red striped one, which is why I put the link on. You could also use navy, I would have thought, for that same, classic look.0
