Hi my son needs a memory stick for school and I have confused myself. What's the difference between a memory stick and a flash drive.
Any suggestions to which one is best? I don't want it too expensive as DS1 has lost so many but, I want it reliable so that precious work is safe.
TIA

I think in your context its the same
Some people call it USB Flash drive
USB stick, memory stick, pen drive etc etc
Only way it changes is if they mean a memory stick for a camera for example which is different0 -
USB flash drive, memory stick, pen drive, usb stick.. All the same thing0

No memory sick can be trusted as reliable, mainly as you say it will probably get lost, but also they some times just stop working. Every time he does any work he should save it at school or home (which ever he working at) and the save it on the stick to bring it home or take it back to school.0

For clarification: If you walk into your local Carphone Warehouse and ask for a memory stick, the latter is what you'll end up with. The former is more usually known as a USB stick or pen drive.0

Also, if youre worried about losing them, Staples do USB stick holders (I always lose mine, so I needed this) It's got a clip so you can clip it on somewhere and it holds 2 sticks, and you can keep it safe** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **

I do it all because I'm scared.
