missed payments

Hi

just checked my credit score and although good i noticed i have 6 missed payments in total all of one credit card company( payed a few weeks late).
are missed payments - defaults?
would this hamper my chances of a mortage?

    Hi

    Missed payments are not as bad as a proper default. For a proper default to be registered they need to send you a default notice first. Missed payments can be seen and will make your credit record look a little worse than if you hadn't had them but these alone shouldn't stop you getting a mortgage. (Obviously its best if you can show you have now been making payments on time for the last few months).
