Is it now the time?!?!

Hi, Im 21 years old, in full-time employment and have struggled to get a loan!!

I bought a car around 3 months ago now at £5000, I had a week to get the money but got refused 3 times (tesco, sainsburys and alliance & leicester). Luckily someone stepped in to borrow the money.

I find out that I was not on the electoral roll at my address and dint have a poor credit history just NO credit. I got it sorted and have been on the electoral roll since September 1st.

I also got a credit card via Barclays and use it to pay my petrol on and to obviously build up my credit score. I have made a couple of payments on it and not in debt with it at all.

Question is now...Is it the right time to apply for the loan? I desperately want to give the money back to the person who borrowed it me and start paying off the car!

Can u recommend companies who will help me? Appreciate all your comments/views/opinions.

Thank You

  • Please someone help - I really need to get a loan and quick. Ive left it 3 months since my last applications. Is it time? Can you please recommend a company.

I bank with Alliance & Leicester and applied with them 3 months ago as I was moving to them from Lloyds TSB. I got refused (obviously electoral roll was not correct and didnt have credit card at time), i appealed and got refused again.

I bank with A&L, credit cards with Barclays, old bank is Lloyds.

    Please helP!!!!

The electoral role "feed" to the bank might not have been updated yet.

The general advice is to wait 6 months before applying.

If a company wants a fee up front, walk away and do not give them any card details no matter what they say about they won't process it.

Not anymore, as the vast majority of the "I NEED A LOAN BUT HAVE POOR CREDIT" threads on this board attest to.

Everyone is having to be much more patient with borrowing in this new world order.
