Ah thanks, I knew there was another place but totally couldn't remember what it was!
I'm also thinking about opening a basic bank account to get a visa electron, then I can also use it to keep any money from selling things separate. And be useful when I've saved enough £2 coins for a weekend away somewhere to avoid Ryanair fees. But I can't find out which accounts do electrons.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
I think the Co-operative cashminder account has an electron card

Cheers Linda, I looked at their basic account but it didn't say what the card was. I've got to go into town tomorrow anyway so I'll call in and apply if it is an electron.
Although I have to say Green Metropolis seems fab, with more money coming to you than through amazon or ebay, just have to see if anyone buys, I've already started listing.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
Ames Halifax Easycash is an electron account and you can apply online...Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

Ooh, might try that one now then.
Actually, just looked and it's all online - you can't use counter services in branch, so I think I'll try the co-op one first. Thanks anyway though Sammy. Can't use the barclaycard or natwest ones that are recommended cos I owe them money.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
Phew, hamster is back in his house, Elliot managed to catch him, he'd gone behind the dishwasher!

Halifax easycash is good Ames, I have that account and I do virtually everything online and just take money out cashpoint. You can put money in via machine in branch.

Good news Linda! Ours escaped when she was pregnant, that was a worry.
Think I'll ask in branch about the co-op one, and look into the Halifax one. Cheers for the advice!Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0
