Hypnosis

Hi guys,

Not too sure where to post this but I'm interested in learning hypnosis (as a hobby to start with but i suppose i could then use my skills to up my income?!)

Does anybody have any experience of this and can you recommend a reputable company that would provide training?

Had a quick search on the web but thought that it would be better to get other peoples advice and recommendations.

Many thanks.

National Council for Hypnotherapists has a list of training courses here.

Well first step is deciding whether you want to go into hypnosis as an entertainment or hypnosis as a therapy because the two are very different and training courses are tailored to one or the other.

My other half is a Hypnotherapist and did a 20 day training course which was done 1 weekend a month. It didn't stop there though, there is an on-going mentorship type of program in order to retain membership to some of the big hypnotherapy organisations.

Just be aware that there are a million and one people offering 1 or 2 day training courses in hypnotherapy. They'll cost you several hundred and are a total waste of time. A decent course won't just tell you how to put someone in a hypnotic state, but what to do after that. As a guide, my OH's training cost around £3k and took a year.
