HP Agreement Fee's

Hi
Has anyone ever challenged the fees companies such as Blackhorse Car Finance charge on their HP Agreements.
If your agreement falls slightly behind they will hit you with £25-30p/m sometimes twice in the same month.
Doe these charges really accurately show the costs the company is incurring? Or are they just penalty charges, another way of making money like the banks have been doing.?

interesting question jamesf81 !!! Blackhorse have hit me with over £300 of charges and additional interest. I'd like to have a crack at these myself but would like to know if anyone else has been successful in reclaiming.0

Hi
Thats what i am trying to find out, they hand the charges out for fun. If no one has tried it maybe worth giving it a crack and starting it off. Start with them first as normal then take it further.
I got 2 months left with the idiots then the car goes back cant wait.0 -
I have dealt with Blackhorse before and there is definately room for negotiation unlike alot of other companies. to begin with they gave me the standard " the charges are in the t's and c's and you signed the agreement which means you agreed to the charges" line but then they changed their tune. I offered to pay half the fees in one if they waived the rest and they agreed, I actually think I could have got more off!
If I were you I'd return the car as planned then after its sold call back and make them an offer for the remaining balance.0
