    Try E-Bay, you can get XP Pro as "buy it now" for about £55 including P&P & Office 2003 for about £90. You won't get a manual - but who reads them anyway.
  • I have a spare xp pro upgrade disk lying around somewhere, may be able to sell it you if ya want!

    I got my office 2003 off ebay for £5. Although it wasn't the original disks (What did you expect for that price lol) it actually works perfectly..!

    yeah and thats illegal ::)
  • cheers for the help. Its for my work so it has to be legal and not from Ebay as I need receipt etc.

    XP Pro has support for connecting to corporate networks (i.e. logging onto a domain).

    If it's a stand alone PC you can make do with the home edition, but if you are accessing a network, better get XP Pro.
  • Let's be very clear here.

    This site is about LEGAL ways of saving money. If you can find something like Windows XP as an original, legal program for £5, then you have found an incredible deal. However, when items such as this are being sold on online auctions so cheaply, we would strongly advise that you ensure these are not illegal copies.

    We would take a very dim view of people either advocating buying illegal software, or posting information on finding illegal software.

    The bottom line is that we don't want to have to step in and remove posts, nor warn (or take further action against) repeat offenders. If you suspect a link to be less than reputable, it would seem a sensible move not to post information on it.

    I am sure you understand our position - we have a responsibility not to allow illegality of this (or any other) sort.
  • Repeat offending??  Have i missed something here?  I'm sorry but this is the 1st post that i've ever posted out of turn.  Jesus, why don't you just put me in the stocks and pelt me with tomatoes?

    Honestly, if its such a big deal then delete it!!!

    **In fact, i've saved you the bother. I will go away now and seriously think about how i can change my criminal ways and repeat offending ::)**
