Hi I have a question or two that if poss could someone or someones please answer, firstly how long would i leave a 2kg whole chicken in a slow cooker for want to use it for a curry and sandwiches and have been all over T£s(0 looking for pudding rice for a rice pud done (at diff time to the chicken) in the slow cooker and can't find any neither could the member of staff whom I asked so my second question is could i use a different type of rice many thanks oh and lastley before i forget can you please tell me how i get to the slow cook recipie collection on here many thanks uolypool

pudding rice in tesco is not with normal rice, if i remember rightly its with the desserts, ie ready made jelly in pots and custards etc. HTHPlease be nice to all moneysavers!

I'd give the chicken about 5 hours in my SC but yours may have different settings.
Basmati rice works well in place of pudding rice.

Pudding rice is short-grain rice. Long-grain rice won't give you that creamy texture which you normally get with rice pudding. It will be perfectly edible, but I think you would be disappointed.
If you still can't find pudding rice in the desserts aisle as suggested then I would go for a risotto rice to get the starchiness you want.
However, I think risotto rice will probably be a bit more expensive than pudding rice.0
