I wouldn't say it offends me - I just happen to believe that Microsoft computers are just as good as Apple!

First off, Microsoft don't make computers, so you have to differentiate between the OS and the hardware.

And the only reason PC's get all the viruses is because they've got such a big share of the market, it's more worthwhile. If the situation was reversed, and Apple had over 90% of the market, no PC's would get viruses, as it wouldn't be worth the hackers time writing them!

That certainly explains why there is more malware for Windows. 12% of US households have a Mac now though, so it's not as if it's a tiny little market.

That's what I was trying to distinguish originally, in that it was actually the software of Apple I was comparing to Microsoft. I wasn't attempting to saying anything about the build quality of the actual machines they make, such as iPods, Mac's etc. But neither's without it's faults. However I will give you the fact that since Microsoft are the bigger company in the market, they might be more likely to sit back and relax a bit.

Is that 12% of roughly 5% of the worlds population?

But a much larger proportion of world's households which actually own a computer...

As noted a couple of times above, you should always back up before performing a major upgrade.

It's not specific to Apple, Microsoft, Oracle, UNIX, Windows, Palm OS, mobile phones, or anything.

Also, why are people using guest accounts anyway?

Personally I was more annoyed by the complete lack of compatibility with HP Printers when Snow Leopard was first launched. Fortunately that took all of one week to resolve with a swiftly released patch.
No it's more to do with the fact that everyone says they work so well. I just don't happen to believe that, and I've given the proof.
Question. If Apple operating systems do indeed not work as well as everyone claims, why has it taken you so long to find this so called 'proof'?

Yes, 12% of the world's richest country.

No reason I can see they would be targeted by criminals, who, as we all know, always target the poorest people they can find.
