Apple's not exempt from problems either...

So it appears that it's not just Microsoft products that do strange things!:p:p:p

Interesting, but performing a proper pre major update procedure, ie taking and keeping a dard drive image from before the update, would mean that no data would be lost. Any major update should be preceded by a full system backup, so that no matter how badly wrong the update goes, it's still recoverable.

Ahh, but that's not the point. Everybody knows Microsoft products don't always work the best. But too many people seem to think Apple are invincible, and their products don't break. They do.:p

  • Apple's QA has been pretty poor for a few years now, both in hardware and software.

The fact that you're making such a big deal about this would suggest that Apple products do generally work very well. Otherwise, you wouldn't display such obvious glee when they don't.

Regardless, this is why clean installs are a good idea, and why you should backup your data regularly regardless of what OS you're using.

I don't think I've ever seen an Apple user argue that you shouldn't bother backing up your data because nothing ever goes wrong, but whatever.

Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:

As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.
