I am helping out at my daughters school sewing and textiles club. They would like some ideas for things for christmas like applique stockings and felt tree decorations. Any ideas would be gratefully received. The kids are 9-10

Sock Snowmen! Easy to make and look really good. Need a white sock (packs of 5 pairs for £2 Primark so enough for 10 children), long grain rice and some bits for eyes. You done have to do a hat or scarf but can do easily with felt instead of knitting:

Hi, If you are still looking for sewing projects for school, the Book People have a book by Usborne called 'Christmas Things to stitch and sew' which might be of interest. It is only £1.99 and there is a code for free postage if you do a search on the forums.

I have just got my copy and it has some lovely things in there including hanging star decorations, snowmen, penguins, stockings, a 'holly' wreath, angels and a really cute dangling santa.0 -
thanks , this sounds like just what i was looking for. Most are wanting to make felt christmas decorations and we want to encourage applique and embroidery within this0
