Natwest Loan
Does anyone know if I can change my Direct Debit to repay my Natwest loan from another banks current account (rather than my Natwest one)?
Having a lot of trouble with Natwest at the moment and considering changing banks and closing my current account - but can't find anything in the loan terms & conditions to state whether you must make payments from a Natwest account

We considered this because Natwest screwed up way too many times and we wanted to cut all ties.
Unfortunately, the rate DH got was for advantage account holders, and in order to make the payments from another bank would have meant a lot of hassle (something to do with the rate... at least thats what we were told)
I'd just give them a call or go into a branch and ask to make sure, as your situation may be different from ours.0 -
Ah well I just have a normal account with them so hopefully it won't be a problem.
I would ring them, but when I've rang them - and called in a branch - about a problem I'm having each have told me different things, and so far neither have been right! I just want to lose all connections with Natwest at the moment as I'm so annoyed with them, but can't afford to pay off the loan fully yet!0 -
why not open an account elsewhere, leave the nat west account open and just pay in enough each month to cover the d/debit?0

This is what we do now. Just transfer the exact amount every month.
And I totally understand where youre coming from Mich81, we've been told so many things by so many people at Natwest we no longer trust them or believe anything they say, and cannot wait to cut all ties with them.0
