I wanna ladies swimsuit with legs!!!

Don't have the most fantastic figure and going on holiday abroad for the first time in 10 years and anticipate having to spend days in the pool with the kids!

Looking for a swimsuit with "boy legs". Have found some on websites, but would like to find one on the high street that I can actually try on. Anyone seen any? Incase you don't know what they look like - have a see

I don't know about anyone else but personally I find that those little shorts tend to roll themselves up if you have any kind of thigh. I'm a size 12 but I find that style really unflattering :undecided

If you're worried about your figure then why not get a sarong for while you're wandering around the pool and beach then whip it off when you lie down to sunbathe or just before you get into the pool.

I can appreciate that after 10 years you're worried about your figure but you know, not everyone on foreign beaches and around holiday complex pools has a perfect figure. In fact you'll probably come back feeling far more confident for having been around real women with real bodies rather than the stereotypes that we have wedged into our brains through the media.

Why not have a look for a well fitting swimming costume with a big bold pattern, decent cups and a medium fit around your thighs. Honestly, noone is going to be spending their holiday looking at your thighs.
Just run, run and keep on running!

Agree with jay-jay, most people dont seem to worry about what they look like in beachwear- perhaps more should (joke) A sarong is defo the way to go. Sometimes wearing clothing that aims to hide a feature (like the swimsuit you mention) actually only serves to emphasise that what you are trying to minimise.

I managed to pick up a little skirt to match my last swim suit from BHS. Did the job of covering up my child bearing thighs but I could also go in the water with it. I also love sarongs, I long ones and short ones depending on my mood.

But like everyone else has said don't worry about it too muc. Tell yourself you look fine and repeat this lots of times. Everyone else will be too worried about their own figures to worry about yours.

Have a great holiday. You have waited 10 years for it so enjoy it.

  • i know what the OP means though, i felt very self-conscious and i was only holidaying in the UK! though it is true that we are all shapes and sizes and no-one really bothers what you look like.

I found a great swimsuit in Matalan for £15. You wear it like a halter-neck top and there is a skirt attached to it, so it covers the top bit of thighs - reminds me of the old fashioned bathing suits...i know that is a really bad description (i know what i mean though!) but it made me feel more confident.

You could try a tankini - most of those come with shorts. Also, catalogues aimed at the more mature lady (eg Oxendales) often do swim dresses.

I got some beach trousers which are great for this - I had loads that I have just gave to the charity shop (all new) perhaps I should have offered them on here first.

These are chiffon type and lovely to cover up in and also have matching smock top. Perfect for walking down to beach/pool and discarding as you slip in.
