2 Jobs - Help!

Hi i am currently self employed but have just been taken on with an employer for 20 hours per week, could you please advise on the tax/ni position due to the two different employment types.

    I'm self employed and also employed. It's straightforward in my case. My employee status is PAYE, so tax is dealt with by my employer, I also do an annual tax return online which calculates my overall tax liability and I pay what I owe (or they pay me what they owe me) But it's all worked out for you anyway. I pay self employed NI.

    I seem to remember having a form that asked which was my main job and as the self employment paid more I put that one.

    No idea if any of that helps, but it really isn't a problem!

    Your first £110 pw from your second job is free of NIC - the rest is charged at 11%.
    tax depends on how much you earn in your main job. If all your personal allowances are used up, then you would pay ay 20%.

    Another daft question, sorry, i have only started the new job this week so presume the employer sends off the P46 and ring the tax people.

    As my gross wage will be higher than my s/e job, do i tell them that's my main job or keep paying NI myself.

    Sorry for waffling, i am very confused and head hurting :confused:
