Well done, as you now know the thought is far more worrying than the actual thing itself!!!!!Kat :money:0

God yeah its a lot more worrying, I've debated this for two years, I so wish I'd just done it when I was first advised, Ive done myself no favours trying to sort it out myself I really didn't work !!
I think I was more worried about it appearing in the local paper as well as I haven't told my parents, I just didn't want them to worry especially as they are both not really well, do you know how long it takes to appear ? I will hide their local !! haha
But yes I feel hell of a lot better now Ive done it, I would say to anyone else if you've exhusted all others routes and this is the only one left, I would say do it, we all make mistakes !

Congratulations on taking control

The next "event" willl be your interview, either on the telephone or in person. Most people worry about this more than attending court, but in the vast majority of cases it is just as easy. The important thing to remember is to answer the questions as honestly as you can, and don't waffle. Have your SOA with you, and perhaps prepare some notes on where monies have been spent. If you can't remember something just say so. I had a face to face interview, and on a couple of occasions had to say I thought money had simply been spent on paying other credit or on living expenses. In one instance I remembered when I got home that some credit had been spent on driving lessons for my OH some five years ago, and so I phoned to tell the examiner. He giggled and said that was absolutely fine

Thanks tim, I did speak to them quickly at the court yesterday on the phone just to confirm name, address and that, I also asked them about my bank account, I just have a cash account only a cash card, which my benefits go into and my bills come out of, I don't have any debt with this bank, I wanted to know if they were going to freeze that account but he couldn't tell me yet, he said they would write to the bank and it would be up to the bank proberly, do you know would they let me know before the freeze it, or should I go to my bank and speak with them maybe ?0

It is highly likely that your bank will freeze it unless it is a Co-op cashminder account or a Barclays basic account. If you already bank with Barclays, it may be worth talking to them and seeing if they will transfer it into a basic account, but if not I would open a new account asap.
It is not the OR who actualy freezes the account, it is the bank themeselves, and they will invariably do it suddenly with no notice. Even when the the OR has stated he has no interest in the account, the majority of banks will still freeze and refuse to open.
I have a co-op cashminder, and apart from one ot two niggles (such as not being able to do pay at the pump, or shop online with Tesco) I have found it perfectly adequate. At least there is an online system which they will allow you to use, even though it's a little basic, and when you call them you will get to speak with someone in the UK without holding on for ages. In most cases they can do the things that are needed immediately, and are far better than some.
I know that co-op are critisised, but I have found their telephone service very good. A couple of times I have had an onlne payment time out, and have called before re-trying to see if it had gone through - on both occasions they were able to tell me instantly whether authorisation had been given. I have had to recall three standing orders, and again on all occasions this was done immediately, and in one instance I had to pay a large bill, so phoned them in advance - they said it would have probably declined due to the amount, but they would mark it to allow, and sure enough it went through

thansk for the advice tim, I will look into opening a new account tomorrow, I have't got a co-op near me but I do have a barclays, which I can go into, do you know if they have internet banking with it, only I need to transfer money every two weeks for my rent to my landlord ?
what do I need to take to open an account ?0 -
Hi, Unfortunately Barclays will not allow internet banking until you are discharged
However, don't dismiss the co-op because there are no branches nearby. I haven't got any branches near, and it hasn't been a problem. You can pay cash and cheques in at the Post Office, and the cash will show on the account the same day (cheques take up to seven days to clear). You can open a co-op account over the phone, and normally get the card and paying in book within a week or so
