Ours are fine. Must be a bad batch. Could you not re-tap the hole yourself?

A Bush without a hole & you can mount?

    That just doesn't sound right.

Does it have freeview built into it?

Nope. But it has a COAZ, 3 SCARTS, a further AV on the side, DVI and a PC VGA connection. Using a SCART for Freeview won't be a problem on this.

My wife has told me the Cambridge Tesco's where we got this from does not have any more.

Hiya - The Model is "Bush" LCD27TV006HD. Just bought a Philips DVP5900 Hi-def DVD player (£79.99) and DVI to HDMI cable (£29.99) and it looks absolutely wicked. I can also confirm that it is HDCP compliant (The TV decrypts DVD's through the DVI port). So a full HD system for under £450. Bargin.

That Philips DVP5900 DVD Player is not a High-Definition DVD Player as you put it. No High-Definition (HD-DVD or Blu-Ray) Players/Recorders have been launched in Europe yet. The Philips DVP5900 is a normal Standard Definition Player that upscales to 720p/1080i to makes the picture look better so you don't have full HD as you put it for £450.

That Philips DVD player is not HDCP compliant as it does not support it as it not HD Player. You would need to have either Sky HD, Telewest TV-Drive, or a PC playing back HD clips/movies to appreciate High Definition output.

The first launched HD-DVD/Blu-Ray Players will cost more than this Bush TV and a cheap upscaling DVD Players put together.

We have managed to pack it up with washers. Three of the 4 holes are really secure on the brackets, so we will try that. Thanks.

We did think about drilling it ourselves but the technical support at Bush informed us that there was something directly behind the screw that wasn't drilled.

Thanks src for that info - I feel a lot better informed now. ;)

weird thought the 10% staff discount was only available upto 99 quid.. maybe not then.
No Tesco staff can only buy a limited number of expensive electricals per year with staff discount, but it's not a total ban on anything over £99
Thanks to all who post constructively.

I saw this in store the other day. Its £599 in Argos!! Its by far the cheapest i've seen for the spec and size. (probably cheapest by £80)

Do you think though that after the world cup the HD prices might fall a bit?
