Can anyone recommend a good shampoo for carpet machines please?
I have a Bissell Pet shampooer which I used for the first time today with the Bissell shampoo that came with it, but I have been told I can get better shampoos than that one.

Bissel have dire warnings in their documentation about using other products but I have used Astonish in our little Bissel cleaner with good results.
With this I found after the initial shampoo I could get almost as much dirt out of the carpet by going over the 'cleaned' area with clean hot water and a second rinse would still discolour the water. But this was on a badly soiled heavy traffic area..
There seems to be no detrimental effect on the shampooer (that looks ridiculous but the spell checker think it's OK)

Yes, I saw that is said it could be a fire hazard to use other cleaning solutions in it!
I will have a look for some Astonish the next time I go in Home Bargains.
