I'm trying to find some transcribing or typing work from home. I've just been put on part time hours from work and need to up my income.

Hi V,

When looking for this sort of work, remember all the usual - be reeeeally careful of scammers and don't go with any company that asks for money upfront. I looked into so many a while ago and couldnt find a single one which was legit.

Do you have any specialised knowledge? For example legal or insurance industry.

If you have, try contacting local firms and see whether they would offer suitable work after taking up appropriate references.

Or would you be willing to go in to their offices - which they might well prefer in order more readily to maintain client confidentiality and oversight of your work. It could also make delivery of the work quicker, easier and more secure.

If you have a medical background in your past, you might find your local GP could welcome someone going in outside normal office hours. (GPs are offering extended opening hours now - my local one opens from 7 am and on some Saturdays.)

I am doing a bit of transcribing at the moment with Quicktate. It's VERY low paid but okay if you have some time on your hands and just want to earn a little bit extra.
